Chelsio's T3 Adapters Now Hold All Current Land Speed Records for Both IPv4 and IPv6 Networks
Utilizing Chelsio adapters, researchers from the University of Tokyo, the Japanese WIDE Project and a team of other institutions set two consecutive new Internet2 Land Speed Records in the IPv6 single and multi-stream categories. The team collaborated to create a network path over 30,000 kilometers in distance, crossing 6 international networks — over three-quarters the circumference of the Earth. In doing so, the team successfully transferred data at an application throughput of 9.08 Gbps which is equal to 272,400 Tb-m/s for both the IPv6 multi and single stream categories. With this speed, the team surpassed the current IPv4 records, proving that Chelsio's adapter and the network devices along the path are able to provide the same performance as IPv4.
