New Driver Installation

This document describes the steps involved in the Chelsio driver installation on a Windows platform.
Please download the Chelsio driver from http://service.chelsio.com

Download the Windows Driver

After you have finished installing the Chelsio NIC in the system (as per the manufacturer’s recommendations), power the machine on.

Step 1:

 

 

 

 

 

 

Select: No, not this time

 

 

Click Button: Next >



Step 2:

 

 

 

 

Select:Install from a list or specified location (Advanced)

 

Click Button: Next >



Step 3:


Select: Search for the best driver in these locations


Select:
Include this location in the search

Click Button: Browse and select the path to where the Chelsio driver resides

 

 

Click Button: Next >



Step 4:

You might see a warning saying: "the Chelsio driver has not passed Windows Logo"

 

Click Button: Continue anyway



Step 5:

You will see a message saying: "Chelsio Ethernet Function Enumerator was installed"

 

 

Click Button: Finish



Step 6:

Repeat steps 1 through 5 for the T3Ndis function driver till you reach the following screen.

Click Button: Finish

The Chelsio driver is now successfully installed!

Please note: If you have a dual port card you have to repeat steps 1 though 6 for the second port.



Changing driver parameters (e.g. MTU)

Step 1:

Click on: Start menu

Right Click: My Computer

Click on: Properties



Step 2:

 

Click Tab: Hardware

 

Click Button: Device Manager



Step 3:

Note: You will see the Chelsio drivers installed under:

• Mulitfunction Adapters

• Network Adapters



Step 4:

 

 

 

 

Right Click on: "Chelsio Ethernet Function Enumerator" under Multifunction Adapter

Click On: Properties



Step 5:

 

Click Tab: Advanced

Note: This example shows you how to change the MTU size. For any other change in Property follow the same procedure and then change the value.

Click On: Ethernet Port 0 MTU

Select Value: Change Value to the one of your choice. This example changes it to 9000

Note: If you are using a dual port card you may choose to change the MTU size of Ethernet Port 1 in the same fashion. Your MTU has been successfully updated!

 

Driver Update

Step 1:
Make sure you have downloaded the latest version of the Chelsio driver from http://service.chelsio.com

Click On: Start menu

Right Click: My Computer

Click On: Properties



Step 2:

 

Click Tab: Hardware

 

Click Button: Device Manager



Step 3:

Note: You will see the Chelsio drivers installed under:

• Mulitfunction Adapters

• Network Adapters



Step 4:

 

 

 

Right Click On: Chelsio Product ID Ethernet Function Enumerator

Click On: Update Driver

Follow Steps 2-5 of the New Driver Installation instructions



Step 5:

Repeat step 1 to 3 of Driver Update instructions to come to this screen

Right Click: Chelsio T3 Ndis Function Driver

Click On:Update Driver

Follow Steps 2-5 of the New Driver Installation instructions

You have now successfully upgraded your driver!
